Secret ending / True ending

I killed all the bosses, got the bad ending.
Now I'm planning to do a better ending, but I don't understand what the difference is to get the 2 endings.
In both of them you have to spare the bosses, but then how do you have a secret ending?

There's no secret ending, just Vengeance (killing) and Wude (sparing).

I guess it's kinda both at the same time? It's the True ending because it's the only one that actually rolls credits. Vengeance just sends you back in time to the start of the game.
It's also a Secret ending because the conditions for it are only revealed after the Vengeance ending, and even then the instructions are... ambiguous.

But yeah, even by that metric, Wude is both True and Secret, there are no separate endings under those descriptors.
