Confused about shrine reset.
Why, hello! I made the mistake of focusing on well, Focus. Got 2.5 bars. It's useless at certain point in the game and already played EVERY LEVEL but the last one, and I still have 2.5 bars. How do I reset the shrines? Aside from getting better myself and I don't need Focus anymore, it's useless for me now.

Read some posts from two years ago or so that when you finish a level on age 20, the shrines can't reset anymore. Is that still true?

Thanks.

it only reset once you beat yang the last boss or start a new game. what i do is have two bars of focus and put the rest on regain focus and max out regain structure.

Shrines are carried over into the next hideout upon completion of the current hudeout, regardless of age. For example, if you play Museum right now, you'll begin with whatever shrine bonuses you had when you finished Club. If you finish Squats, you'll overwrite what shrines you start Club with, but the other hideouts will be unaffected (since, chronologically, you hadn't got to them with that set of shrine bonuses yet).

So, if you want to go with a completely different build, you have to replay the game from Squats all the way to Sanctuary (via mission select, don't start a whole new save over it). Nothing affects that process, since again, shrines are carried over regardless of age, and you can reset to your global youngest age with "Restart Current Hideout".

This is a very common misconception, that for some reason is still prevalent these days; I think it's caused by the fact that it did actually work that way on release, but it was patched fairly quickly.

Roger that, I will try again. I was willing to play a new save file for it. Thanks!

But at that point Focus is useless, you are better off breaking structure while parrying, no? Plus I am receiving conflictive information: some say it can reset per stage and you say that only when I beat Yang.

yes focus is useless on yang but for the other bosses works great once i got to yang regain structure was at max and for shrine reset either you beat yang or start from the first level.

I think you're confused by the fact that beating Yang puts you back in the Wuguan, i.e. it's equivalent to you clicking "GIve Up" in the pause menu. This doesn't actually do anything to the shrines themselves, you'll still start Sanctuary with whatever you had when you finished Tower, until you replay through Tower again.
