There's no games like SIFU.
3D brawlers that come close to have maybe 20% of the gameplay ideas would be :
- Urban reign.
- God hand.

Just jumping in to say sleeping dogs wasn't being slept on.

Short story from what i remember, the devs ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the development of a sequel, attempted to make an online MMOstyle game of it, also failed, they got fired.

There's no more devs who worked on that game anymore. It would require the editor to hire new devs to make a ""Reboot"" and we don't want a bunch of LGBTQ dumb devs to make this game.

You need people who actually care and love the HK action flics of the 80/90's

Man you named 2 PS2 bangers that scratched the sifu type itch, but its a damn shame these aren't ported to PC. God Hand still gets memed but you are a true patrician for urban reign.

God Hand: Anime fights but with very up close and personal combat. Make your own combo strings with moves, kinda like absolver as well, but moreso compliments which not only works for timing and attack strength, but the spacial reasoning of sifu and absolver.

Urban Reign: Tekken with wrestling game mechanics. You can focus body parts for extra damage, stamina is a managed resource, so it's practically an MMA game but with juggling

- sekiro
- darksouls 3
- god of war 2018 (the valkirie fights, especially the queen)
- wo long fallen dinasty (it was super fun for me, idk why people didn;t like it that much)
- ryse son of rome was awesome too
- ghost of tsushima (amazing combat, feels like sekiro kinda)
- black myth wukong is also amazing, but don;t expect combos, just very tiny dodge windows)

idk, as i said, sifu is unique, but these other games are also hard, punishing, skill based games (reaction based)

when you beat a boss, it's very satysfying it gives you that rush! all those games did that for me at least!

Why obviously not the same, i would recommend Mad Max for really brutal third person combat, and Zeno Clash as one of the few first-person brawlers (also there is corpus edax but i can't say much about it). Zeno Clash devs also made Clash: Artifacts of Chaos which is is brawling oriented as well, haven't tried it yet though.

Sifu it's kind of like a spiritual successor to Jet Li Rise to Honor, it has aged decently well considering its a 20 yo game as of now. It is a PS2 exclusive, for that reason i recommend emulating it on Android with Aethersx2 so you can play it anywhere; also, it'll serve you as great time-killer game if you like repeating chapters for the sake of perfecting or playing it on different ways, etc
