Why Buying Sifu on Steam Is the Only Acceptable Option
As a passionate fan of Sifu, I am excited that the game is finally coming to Steam after being released exclusively on the Epic Games Store for a year. I personally chose not to buy it on Epic and instead pirated it, but now that it's available on Steam, I am counting down the last few hours until I can legally purchase it.

In my opinion, buying Sifu on Steam is not only worth the wait, but it's the only acceptable option for true fans of the game. The Steam release offers a range of benefits, including achievements, better community features, and compatibility with other Steam games. Additionally, buying the game legally supports the developers and ensures that we can continue to enjoy their amazing work.

So, what do you think? Are you with me on this, or do you have a different perspective? Let's have a lively discussion about why buying Sifu on Steam is the only way to go.

steam and epic have the same version, same content......

I'll likely buy it for (hopefully) better steam deck performance.

But no Steam Cloud support is a big no no. They should add cloud saves for steam.

Furthermore:

Epic version has achievements too (and Cloud support, which steam didn't have last time I checked)

We have access to most community features on steam without owning the game.

This has nothing to do with the game, and just with you preferring to have all your games on steam.

True fans would've bought the game already, instead of pirating it. Imagine calling yourself a true fan but refusing to pay the devs for their game because you don't like the storefront they used lmao.

It's weird when steam fanboys call themselves the true of a game but

1. choose to buy from store that took more money from each sales,

2. hate the company that build the game engine that the game is made of,

3. hate the company that provide the necessary fund for game developers to finish the game,

4. being proud of pirating the said game,

I said this to every steam fanboys out there who claim to be a fan : you're not a fan of the game, you're a fan of the store.

So don't flatter yourself like you're some kind of hero fighting the injustice. You're just an entitled kid who think everything should go around your stupid ego. That is what I think.

Because store exclusive games on one platform sucks and it's a thing that should have never existed? EGS in so many years still are far away from Steam functionality, it's buggy, has awful captcha etc.

Why do I prefer Steam? I like keeping all my stuff in one place and to have access to the guides, threads, workshop etc in one click.
Do I hate EGS? Nah, that's ridiculous. The only thing I don't like is that I must wait for a year to play THE GAME THAT I WANT TO BUY EVEN FOR FULL PRICE in the place I prefer. If not exclusives, I won't give a ~shi about EGS.

I don't know why, but I've seen a number of games that don't mention cloud support on the store page, but still have it. So it might end up with it.

I just hate Epic Games. I've always used Steam and always will. Been hyped for this game for years and I'm happy to have waited.

Store exclusive games on pc has been around literally since steam launch. Back in the days, I was forced to install steam despite owning a physical copy of skyrim. Now, where can I get elden rings, sekiro, monster hunter, etc outsite steam? Surely not from epic, origin, or gog.

I don't know when the last time you use egs, but the launcher works fine on my system. I couldn't find any issue that I would not findv on any other launcher.

And you'll see captcha if you switch accounts too many times on the same system or you use VPN. Which is good to protect epic and it's customers from bots/hackers.

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about do you?

1. 30% is the industry standard, you can look it up, steam also offers more deals specifically to indie developers, its no where near the 12% EGS offers but again, its the industry standard deal with it.
2. Are you talking about the unreal engine? because they don't need to have a deal with EPIC to use the unreal engine unless they plan on using the premade assets which you can buy on epics marketplace, though Im pretty sure theres a lawsuit going on about someone selling stolen assets on epics marketplace.

3. If your talking about EGS the reason for so much hate is because EGS was distrustful with how their launcher worked in the past, its a resource management hog and in the past it would harvest data that only they knew about, and only admitted it after being called out for it. And EGS is 40% owned by Tencent a chinese company, feel free to google more info on that can of worms.

4. There is no definite proof that anyone would pirate the game, not to mention would bother wasting the time, usually people saying it or just saying it to give the impression "Ha I'm not going to buy your game instead I'm gonna just tell you I'm going to steal it" , though 9/10 times they usually don't bother.

So YOU don't flatter yourself like your some kind of know it all when you're just some frog in a well, I think we all know who the kid is in this argument, maybe actually do the research before running your mouth off.

30% isn't industry standard in PC gaming at all, currently Steam is the only distribution store that still holds onto that 30%, everyone else takes less.

2. Are you talking about the unreal engine? because they don't need to have a deal with EPIC to use the unreal engine unless they plan on using the premade assets which you can buy on epics marketplace, though Im pretty sure theres a lawsuit going on about someone selling stolen assets on epics marketplace.

There is no lawsuit going on. The point he was making is that people hate Epic, yet will buy/play games that have Unreal Engine in it, therefore supporting Epic because Epic gets some of the money from Unreal Engine use.

3. If your talking about EGS the reason for so much hate is because EGS was distrustful with how their launcher worked in the past, its a resource management hog and in the past it would harvest data that only they knew about, and only admitted it after being called out for it. Epic Client has never been a resource hog, beyond bugs that can effect small number of people, those kind of bugs even happen on Steam client. Epic never harvested any data by uploading it to Epic without user permission. Tencent being a minority investor means nothing, and it's strange to even bring it up on Steam where Valve not only censors their global store of games that are pro-hong kong protests, not to mention the huge business Valve has in China.

4. There is no definite proof that anyone would pirate the game, not to mention would bother wasting the time, usually people saying it or just saying it to give the impression "Ha I'm not going to buy your game instead I'm gonna just tell you I'm going to steal it" , though 9/10 times they usually don't bother.

So what you are saying is that EGS haters are known liars?

Wow I can pretty much sum up everything you said as nothing more than a load of BS, you can easily fact check everything I said if you had half a brain cell to use google to find the information yourself, so I guess what I'm saying is EPIC supporters are confirmed idiots? And yeah I'm not going to take the time to dismantle everything you've said in response to my previous post when anyone with the intelligence of a 9 year old could easily google it. :tobdog:

It could be that Steam Cloud is referring to functionality other than the savegames I guess.
I just checked and it does have the save toggle and it does say there's some data stored in Steam Cloud, so I guess it does support it. (Yay!)
