Can I apply it to current version of the game? I've played it a few months ago before an official "tranlsation" from NISA and now wondering if I can play it on my steam version or have to pirate it.

Yes you can use the fantranslation with this current version of the game.
You have to delete some files though to make it work, otherwise it will crash at launch.
Just be aware that the English dub will be different from the fantranslation text.
No problem if you play with Japanese voices of course.

yes you can play it
rename ENGPATCH to literally anything else, and for the rest do as the instruction says

For anyone else reading this in future, make sure that in game text is set in japanese language (it's actually gonna be english due to zerofield tranlsation patch).
