Read other thread: change the name of the fan patch.
Even though XSEED was a 100 times worse then NISA.
They changed the personality of entire characters in the English adaption.
Estelle from the Sky games is a nearly complete different character in English and Japanese in how she talks and how her personality is displayed.
Or the "funny" jokes XSEED added where you can talk to empty chests for some meme.
NISA would be crucified on these forums if they did something similar.
Those people never cared about translations/localization, just now when its trendy to hate on anything perceived "woke" or "forcing a agenda", NOW its the worst thing ever when NISA uses a different word then the original script.
You can dislike translation choices, thats not the problem. I still think "Beauties Blade" is a dumb localization for Elaines nickname "The Sword Maiden".
But there is a difference between not liking some translation choices and going on a online crusade.
People can spend their free time how they want I guess, but it's all so pointless and many of the examples cherry picked to get outraged over are fairly meaningless. All I know from perusing some of the threads is that the overwhelming majority of those criticizing are overly hostile towards those who don't share their opinion including calling those who are just sitting back and enjoying the games "not real fans" or at the very least conveying that general attitude. That doesn't sound like a productive group to be associated with.
Can't we just play the version we personally prefer and if someone doesn't like any of the available translations, how about playing in japanese or making a translation yourself instead of whining?
It is true the standards of these localizations are not great.
But good or bad, the terminally angry types don't seem to comprehend that this form of localization is the norm. Ask them to name games translated in a style they actually like.
I love these idiots, "i really hate what you wrote, here i give you free points as punishment!"
But we already established that the anti woke crowd are not the brightest stars in the night sky.
The abundance of catgirls in the steam points offerings has my interest.
