Report a translation problem
I think the reason NISA were able to release CS3 and 4 back-to-back within a year was that their translators started working on the CS4 script before CS3 was even released in 2019. Translators generally finish their work fast and leave the rest to the editors while they move on to other things. As Kai is unreleased, there's no script for them to work on yet, so the gap between Daybreak 2 and Kai might be bigger than the gap between Daybreak 1 and 2.
I'm tired of waiting now. Coming 3 years behind is unacceptable. Even though I was excited for the game, all my excitement was ruined by the waiting times.
We should have gotten Kuro 1 this year and then we should have gotten Kai at the beginning of next year. This way, we would be up to date.
The other smaller projects like Nayuta, Azure/Ao (yes those were small projects unless you count both games as one big project), and Ys seems to squeeze in between those dates.
There is a good reason that in polls Kuro 2 is generally considered the worst Trails game of all time in Japan.
Kuro 2 is like a 80 hour version of chapter 2 in Cold Steel 4, pure padding.
I am still baffled why they gone with that direction after promising tighter and more plot relevant arcs after Reverie.
Iits like " just lets do the exact opposite of what we said".
And the consequence was that we did not get the planned Kuro 3 but a hasty developed Kai with the promise of massive plot developments and the start of the final arc for the franchise.
After Reverie they said " story is about halfway done" and with Kai they are at" the main story is 90% done after Kai".
They definitely trimmed some stuff to speed up the overall story after the terrible reception of Kuro 2.
Yeah... its especially annoying with Kuro since they finally did become a bit mature with deaths sticking and showing blood and general a bit more serious tone.
But then Kuro 2 did go back to the old ways of "power of anime friendship saves all! Yay!".
I honestly think by now FALCOM has a active phobia to hurt/kill any of the characters in the franchise.
ps. I noticed that spoiler tagging did not work. Apparently I messed up and used the discord spoiler tag method. Maybe update it on your end as well.
My biggest problem is the combat system. It's just not as engaging. I have no idea what a lot of the crafts and passive skills do, because I simply spammed S-Crafts.
Agreed, the combat system is a downgrade compared to earlier games. The idea is solid, having a mix of action and turn based combat to speed up low level fights but it never felt really realized.
Also i honestly think Kuro 1 has one of the worst UI in the franchise. Especially the orbment managment feels very unintuitive and confusing.
