New Trails game announced for Japan "Kai no Kiseki: Farewell O Zemuria" 2024
So, today Falcom announced the next game in their Trails franchise to be released in Japan and to the surprise of many fans its not "Kuro no Kiseki 3" but a new entry called
"Kai no Kiseki: Farewell, O Zemuria-"
https://twitter.com/nihonfalcom/status/1735525089045864530
Slated for a late 2024 release.

Any thoughts? I am quiet surprised that they did not go with Kuro 3 to be honest because there was quiet a few unresolved plot points from the first two games.

The first thing I thought was the title design looks extremely similar to Reverie, so it might do something similar like bring in newbie "sub-protagonists" Swin and Nadia. I'm as surprised it's not Kuro 3 but I'm gonna venture a guess and say it'll set the grand stage for it.

that's basically just kuro 3 chill...
Can we please get a Japanese text for all versions including the CLE this time? It sucks having to wait for NISA's version just to play in the original language.

Thats a licensing issue. CLE usually only have the license rights for Korea and China so they cant include any other language.

I'm basically saying that at Falcom, that they should give the Japanese license to all versions or just CLE. People who plays the NISA version will either wait for the localization, or will apply a fan translation.

NISA exclusively getting the license to the Japanese text is honestly a dickish move to force people to buy the localization.

CLE only for Japanese is a big NO and I can't even fathom why you think it's okay to suggest this. It sucks big time to have the company handling the language you play the game in changing in between like that. It already happened randomly with NISA's Reverie not having Japanese while all the previous games from NISA had it, I certainly do not want to see that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ move again during this series. NISA has been handling Japanese, they need to keep having it.

I agree that both CLE and NISA should have it rather than just one yes, but the mere suggestion of having another stupid switch between CLE and NISA for Japanese rights is just downright revolting. Falcom better not do that crap ever again, that sucked hard enough with Reverie alone.
Yes, as I said in my original post, is that all versions should have the Japanese text.
If Falcom insists that only one publisher can have the Japanese text, then it should go to CLE, not NISA.

-CLE ports releases first. So people don't have to wait for the NISA version just to play in the original language.
-People who plays NISA wants to play in English. Even looking at the threads in this community, you can see a lot of people asking about the english fan patch.

There is really no consumer benefit for NISA to be the exclusive holder of the Japanese license. It was all done for money.

Doesn't Durante work on NISA?

Correct. Only the nisa ports are done by Ph3 games. That is reason anoth for me to say that it does benefit the consumeren. It might take longer but you do get a way better port.

To give a example the cle ports still don't have in game settings. Meanwhile Ph3 ports had those since the zero port. Plus the Ph3 versions are also just way more stable in general.

This is a good point. Though personally having played the last three games in CLE, I didn't find myself missing the qualities of life provided in Durant's ports. The regular video and control settings provided in the launcher was sufficient for me.

I understand that this is a personal preference, but a lot of the qualities of life are overrated. Also I never had a crash.
I do not pick NISA because I want English, but because I want PH3 ports and compatibility between the different games. I don't care about waiting longer, I care about quality, which means original language + PH3 port.
NISA should definitely keep Japanese so that quality in text and in port are grouped in the same release, and that those like me playing Japanese can keep having compatibility from one game to the next.
