Thats a licensing issue. CLE usually only have the license rights for Korea and China so they cant include any other language.
NISA exclusively getting the license to the Japanese text is honestly a dickish move to force people to buy the localization.
CLE only for Japanese is a big NO and I can't even fathom why you think it's okay to suggest this. It sucks big time to have the company handling the language you play the game in changing in between like that. It already happened randomly with NISA's Reverie not having Japanese while all the previous games from NISA had it, I certainly do not want to see that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ move again during this series. NISA has been handling Japanese, they need to keep having it.
I agree that both CLE and NISA should have it rather than just one yes, but the mere suggestion of having another stupid switch between CLE and NISA for Japanese rights is just downright revolting. Falcom better not do that crap ever again, that sucked hard enough with Reverie alone.
If Falcom insists that only one publisher can have the Japanese text, then it should go to CLE, not NISA.
-CLE ports releases first. So people don't have to wait for the NISA version just to play in the original language.
-People who plays NISA wants to play in English. Even looking at the threads in this community, you can see a lot of people asking about the english fan patch.
There is really no consumer benefit for NISA to be the exclusive holder of the Japanese license. It was all done for money.
Doesn't Durante work on NISA?
To give a example the cle ports still don't have in game settings. Meanwhile Ph3 ports had those since the zero port. Plus the Ph3 versions are also just way more stable in general.
I understand that this is a personal preference, but a lot of the qualities of life are overrated. Also I never had a crash.
NISA should definitely keep Japanese so that quality in text and in port are grouped in the same release, and that those like me playing Japanese can keep having compatibility from one game to the next.
Just a google.translated original post for the curious.
