Lost saved progress
Somehow i lost all my saved data, and every time i start the game it keeps starting from the beginning. I didn't do anything with the files nor i have touched anything in the local files, it just disappeared.

Things i've tried(and didn't work):
1. Re-sync cloud
2. Re-installed steam

The achievements are there but the game just keeps starting from the beginning.

Any idea on how to retrieve my progress ?

That is really sad to hear and we are sorry it happened to your save progress.
Unfortunately, we don't save any save on a database anywhere besides the users own computer and Steam Cloud. Nothing on the new update changed save files and states.

This is really unfortunate and sad, but there is nothing we can do as it is an error related to something that happened on Steam and we don't have ways to access save files.

If the error was specifically related to the update, everyone would have lost their saves.

Thanks for the fast reply. I was wondering if there is something I can do with the local files.

This happened when I launched the game without internet and then my laptop connected to the internet and probably overrided the file on the first sync. That is just my assumption.

Maybe checking your local folders could be a way of finding a more recent save file that has content. Probably when the internet connection kicked in while the game was starting to launch, it corrupted the file for some reason, could be a version conflict since Steam doesn’t sync the cloud if you have a different version than the latest. It is very hard to pinpoint the actual step that could’ve triggered this. Maybe there is a version yet on the local files of your computer and it could be saved, but there’s no guarantee, unfortunately.

Hey there. Sorry again for bothering. I found 2 saved files in my steam cloud. The one is probably the real one the other one is the one that overrode the main file. I'm not really sure where the game stores the local saves, but if that is possible i can just download the right one, turn off the sync cloud functionality and then i will try to re-sync, or re-upload the local save file or the file that kept my recent progress. If that is possible. If not is there any way i can send you my files over email or so ? I don't really want to start from the beginning since i've been playing the game for a very long time.

Hey there. No worries. Always reach out and we will try to assist if we can.
The local are saved at:
LocalDisk/Users/(yourcomputeruser)/AppData/LocalLow/FlannelBearGames/CraftySurvivors/{Steam3AccountID}
The Steam3AccountID is a number related to your Steam Account. You could try to manually place the save file in there called SaveState.dat (that is your save, so the biggest one should be your actual save).
I'd save the file on another folder to try that and see if it works. Hopefully it does and you can recover your progress. Let us know if it does.

Yes, of course.
The path on MacOS is: ~/Library/Application Support/FlannelBearGames/CraftySurvivors/{Steam3AccountID}
File has the same name, SaveState.dat

Hey there. Just wanted to know of you were able to get your save progress restored using the files?

We also just posted an information of something that might help you recover portion of the progress you had. We hope this at least helps you enjoy the game again.
