Could be tied to performance too, perhaps.
You shouldn't have to go through with all of this as its a built in feature of steam. Every other game I play with the controller uses my steam settings to avoid controller drift but your game doesn't seem to work with it. It must be some sort of feature you enable on your end in the gamepad profile settings.
I feel like this may have something to do with the game's performance, as it does feel rather... variable, with the framerate.
Nearly impossible to play that way, of course. Probably not intended behavior for keyboard players!
You can't even move diagonally unless you come to a complete stop and initiate movement diagonally.
I'll keep the game because it was at a nice price, but I can't really play it unless this gets changed or fixed, it makes playing not fun at all.
We already changed the settings so Steam won't use the controller API on the game anymore, but users can still add the controller API themselves. So make sure you are not using the Steam Controller API. (Specially on Steam Deck, as even disabling it from Steam, the Deck still forces the input API)
Sadly, this did not seem to help.
