Possible modding/hacking? (Specifically, the Chao garden)

Are there any ways I can modify certain aspects of the day? I'd love to be able to shorten the time of a "year" in the chao garden from 4 hours to 2, maybe, or increase the max number of chaos i can have in a single garden.

Mainly what im asking is, do/will i have any options for modding/hacking the game?

In any case, there's no way to alter the PC port other than money hacking with Cheat Engine. You can find the installation files in the steam folder but the specific directory is cryptic and convoluted.

the save file for your chao garden is unencrypted and can be edited with a plain hex editor. Cheat engine also allows for easy real time modding of the chao variables. It wont be long before someone writes a chao editor for the pc. Im currently working on a CE version of chao editing. So far im debating if i want to just generate a list of all chao or just output the info of the chao your currently are holding.

Okay, well I personally don't have any experience or knowledge in hex editing. I'm afraid that's not a possibility for me, unless I really don't need a working knowledge of hexediting. Although, I'm sure a CE version and a list of all chao would be greatly appreciated by a lot of people

There's a few posts on some internet forums with Cheat Engine addresses to add money to your Chao world.

Just google "Sonic Adventure 2 Steam Cheat Engine" and I'm sure something will pop up.

Someone on the Cheat Engine Forum is currently working on a Chao Editing program, apparently. He's gotten a lot done with it.

i dont see the point in destroying a fun game with cheat engine :/ making mods to add more chao types, extra mini games etc, yeah could be fun, but editing in a sure-win chao, no no fun at all.

Well if you've beaten the game, it can be fun. CE isn't only for chaos, it can be used for plenty of other things such as speed editing, playing as knuckles on a level designed for sonic, etc. etc.
