So, SA2 vs Battle DLC
This may seem like a stupid question, if you don't know what I'm talking about.

The Dreamcast version of SA2 had a few things the Gamecube "upgrade" did not, and the Gamecube replaced a few characters. Namly Big got replaced with the Chao Walker, and a few other things.

So my question is, is SA2 faithful to the Dremcast port, with ONLY updated graphics? Will buying the Battle DLC replace things, as it did for Gamecube? Or would it add?

My first guess is that it would be a remake closer to the gamecube version. I don't know for sure though.

I may just have to hold out buying Battle just to find out. Would suck if it replaces.

I think the game is a port of Battle inthe first place, just with the extra bits hacked off for DLC, so I don't think you're actually replacing anything, But i cannot confirm this, because I am still waiting for my keys from GMG so I can find out :/

I for one, don't like that they replaced things in SA2: Battle, instead of just adding. There was no reason for Big to be cut out completely in SA2:B. He even lost his camios. And not to mention, his model, animation, and texture data was still in SA2B, but unused.

Did you see him before getting the DLC?

I can confirm that this version is the Gamecube port with most of Big's cameos put back in. City Escape is the only stage you'll need to see that it's the gamecube version in HD. Level layout (as in minor touch-ups in background objects) is the same as the Gamecube, 2p mode is the same as the Gamecube, with some characters being Battle DLC content exclusive (and Big isn't one of them, sadly.) You'll need the DLC to get all 180 emblems, however, since Chao Karate is only in Battle.

So it's the Dreamcast game, without anything missing or being replaced (Other then no Big MP), with Gamecube content. Thanks.

This version has the Gamecubes better detailed models but it lacks the better lighting of the Dreamcast.

Battle also adds menu themes. The only thing it replaces is the original opening.

From what I remember Big works exactly like egg man while the Walkers work differently.

Nothing seems to be missing but I'm curious if the alternate customes are still there, if I recall correctly, changing the customes on GC would alter the characters. Red tornado tails for example used to be extreamly fast.
