The Dreamcast and GameCube both have different hardware; this means its possible that one console supported different graphic types better. That also might have something to do with both performance of the console and why both versions were vastly different in the first place. And with the GameCube version likely selling more copies from the Dreamcast dying out (even though the Dreamcast was better and cooler) it might have been more of a corporate decision to use more of the GameCube version.
It should also be noted that the GameCube version had more Chao Garden mechanics that could have taken up some of that extra space that the Dreamcast didn't have.
Owned both. Strongly prefered DreamCast even though I had far less games for it and it had horrible disk reading. Controller was just awesome
GameCube had its moments. Super Smash Bros Melee being one of them.
*Slaps The Assassin.*
Just kidding.
*Un-slaps The Assassin.*
I can un-slap people here, right?
I don't see why not.
I'm also strongly biased as I fell in love with Grandia II on the Dreamcast. All of its ports were garbage.
but the dremacast controller was shaped weird and for some reason the wire came out the front instead of the back. :s but the wierdest controller ever is probably the N64.
They turned the Dreamcast controller INTO A BOAT (see Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed).
Your argument is hereby invalidated. Partially.
The Dreamcast (Sept 1999) was released both before the PS2 (Oct 2000) and the Xbox (Nov 2001). You couldn't even really compare the Dreamcast controller to any other controller other than perhaps the PS1 within its first year of being released.
Xbox controller resembles the PS2 controller far more than it does the Dreamcast. The Dreamcast controller didn't have a select button or a second analog stick.
DOUBLE MEMORY CARD SLOTS? THE COLORED BUTTONS?!
