Report a translation problem
So, I'd say, play the Dark story first. But, really, do it whichever way you want.
Anyway, I always just go Hero -> Dark because that's the way they're listed on the menu, so I always thought that it would go like that, but the stories happen at the same time. Dark side story gives information on Shadow and his awakening while the Hero side story is more about Sonic's adventure. It all depends on your preference
Or you can play One Hero, one Dark Level & tell the story chronologicly until you reach the Last Story.
