Chao not crying tears

I was a little dissatisfied with how Chao really don't show any negative emotions unless you mistreat it, so I've been using Fusion's editor to make my Chao cry after certain events (Falling in the water when they can't swim, getting hit by the jack in the box, etc.) just to keep me on my toes a little more in my Garden. I'm missing a pretty big graphical detail, though: I'm not getting the animation for tears, so even when my Chao is bawling and crying its eyes out there's nothing spewing out of its eyes.

I'd be hard pressed to believe that I'm missing an animation somewhere in my program files, but I am running integrated graphics (I don't have a "gaming" computer) which has caused other headaches while playing this game. Does anyone else have this kind of issue?

2. Tears were never part of the animation, not in the dreamcast, gamecube, arcade, or steam version
