Game won't start no matter what (I'm serious)
I have the SA Mod Loader, I tried turning off all mods, I turn off fullscreen, I reinstall, I verify integrity of game files, I replaced the config files, Ran the game as administrator, Set compatibility to Windows 7, I'm trying everything but nothing works. It happened when I got errors saying I need to set High Priority of the Render Fix mod and disable some mods. Then the game just won't run at all! What am I supposed to do?!

Render Fixes should be first at the top on the mod list (in the manager). And make sure no other mods are conflicting.

But if you really want a full reset, reinstalling and verifying isnt enough. You have to go into your Local Files where the game is and manually delete all the files, then you verify. Then the game gets everything clean

did u find a fix? Im having the same issue. Just stuck on the launcher screen and it just keeps opening the launcher rather than the game when I press play through the launcher

It worked! Thanks man. But I had to make sure to backup the resource folder in the Local Files since that has my Save Data. So if going for a full reset like this. Backup the resource folder to anywhere on your computer so you can drop that back in the Local files again.

Btw thanks for the help

Which launcher? The normal launcher or the SA Mod Manager?

normal. When I played SA2 few months ago, I wasnt having any of the issues before going vanilla. Only difference is im on win11 instead of win10.

(Yea I will be including mods right after I can launch the game)

use the launch command "-q" this will bypass the launcher.
an extra step is to run the launcher. save your settings. then find the launcher config text file and make it read only.

Either way the SAModManager is highly recommended due to its automatic bug fixes.

Bypassing the normal game launcher is still just playing a 2011 port of a port on hardware that isn’t supported fully without mods
I got my SA2 to finally work a while ago. Used SAMM to get them improvement and fix mods. I had a strange moment of checking out compatibility settings to set to some service pack 3 of some version of windows, then tried running as admin and then a friend sent me some replacement exes for the launcher and sonic2app exes files some random combo of all them fixed my game, enjoying the hell out of it

you would be wrong. Once the mods are installed, they function. You dont need to launch from the mod manager. There should be an option to disable auto uninstall in the mod manager settings.

I put Render Fixes at the top and am still getting an error saying I need to place it at the top.
