Ring Farming?

I'd like to know a convenient way to get lots of rings quickly. I've spent a lot of time in levels like City Escape where it's easy to pick up tons of rings, but I would like to know a way of getting like a thousand each time. I'd prefer to do this without hacking, as I am the kind of gamer who doesn't like using cheats or guides. Can somebody please offer tips? Thank you in advance! :)

The absolute fastest way is to do Mad Space Mission 2 over and over:

Second fastest, definitely more fun, is Pyramid Cave M2:

City Escape M1 still always remains the most fun to do (plus allows you to get 10 animals every time to give to your Chao) but it's still nice to have options to add variety from time to time.

My method has always been to play the find the chao mission in City Escape and keep cycling through the level unitl I hit 999 rings before tracking the little bugger down.
