Chao stat question

So, I'm going for all the emblems in the game and that unfortunately means getting all the chao emblems. I really don't want to go through all the trouble of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around trying to get S grade stats and all that because I don't really enjoy the chao garden.

Is it required to have super high grades in all stats to win all the chao races and karate or can I get by grinding to a high enough level with just a normal chao? I don't want to end up grinding to level 99 only to find out that it's still not enough and be ♥♥♥♥♥♥

You should be able to win all the races with those stats - it's just that it may take longer to do than it would for chao with better stats. Expect to grind to about level 60-70 in most stats, and even then, it may not be 100% guaranteed.

One word of advice - never abuse your chao! It will lower its friendship towards you which I'm pretty sure also plays a part in some hidden friendship stat I don't know much about. If it's sleeping, let it sleep. If it demands attention, give it a pat. That detail is crucial and can make a big difference in the racing and karate events.
