If you guys have gsync/freesync monitors you need to disable it for the game to launch. For Nvidia this can be done in Nvidia Control panel, idk how for AMD. For Nvidia at least it can be done on a per game basis so you don't have to disable it for your entire pc and other games.

For me there's not even an option for that, and the resolution part is blank.

Go to Windows settings, Display and then Graphics settings, in there browse for the game's folder and select sonic2app.exe, then click on it in the Graphics settings menu and click options then set it to High performance.
