Mystic Melody Bug?
Anytime I try to do one of the lost chao missions as Rouge or Knuckles, the blue vortex thing that takes you to the chao (in all the stages that it should be there) doesn't appear. I still get teleported to the other places, but only if I jump in vaguely the right place, it's making it a lot harder to get A rank, and sometimes I don't get teleported. Has anyone else had the same problem, and is there a solution?

Try renaming sonic2app.exe to Launcher.exe and running it (weird trick I know).

What F-Man says will work. The graphics settings for your card are likely being applied to the launcher and not the actual game.

I just tried it and it said there was already a file called launcher, and then it wouldn’t start :(

You have to rename Launcher.exe to LauncherBackup.exe (or basically anything other than launcher) first, then rename sonic2app.exe to Launcher.exe.

This. It also fixes missing particle effects, i.e flames from skulls in Pumpkin Hill.

So i opened up the Sonic Adventure 2 folder, and a found a Launcher and a sonic2app, but neither of them had a .exe at the end. I did what was recommended anyway, and the game wouldn't launch. Am I renaming the wrong thing? If so, where is the right files? If not, what should I actually do?

In File Explorer, click View, tick the checkbox show extensions. Then rename them. If the extensions aren't visible, just leave off ".exe"

EDIT: I should note that that's only where the settings are in Windows 10.

I did it, then started the game. It updated the game and undid the changes.

Check the file sizes. Per the recommendations, they should match the following:

LauncherBackup (which is actually Launcher) = 1840 kB
Launcher (which is actually sonic2app) = 21347 kB

Otherwise, the game messed something up or the files are unchanged.

That's weird, I reapplied the recommended changes and they stuck this time. It also fixed the graphics issue.

I never had the problem on my PC but when I started playing on my gaming laptop I had the issue, this fixed it! A gem of a thread thank you!
