[SOLVED] Issue with game-time slower that it should be

Hi all,
I have recently upgraded my Graphics Card from a Nvidia 680 to an AMD 580 (which I think is equivelent to a Nvidia 1060). It is a significant jump in performance, around 40~% for most games, however framerate is not my issue.
When playing Sonic Adventure 2, I found that the gameplay was sluggish and the game-time itself was running slower than it should. I find it odd that a graphics card change would have such an effect but you never know with hardware.
I will post as much info as I can below. I will also play around with some settings and post if I manage to solve this. I see several other people reporting "slow-motion" issues.

Maybe you plugged your monitor into the on-board GPU (Intel HD probably) instead o your graphics card.
The graphics card slots are usually the furthest down at the back of your PC.

No, the setup is fine. However, I seem to have found the cause.
While SA2 was running, I had a youtube video playing on the other monitor. Apparently, this can cause framerate issues with windowed games on other monitors. Some people have suggested turning off hardware acceleration in the browser (which in my case is FireFox), but that didn't seem to work for me.

So, the partial solution for me right now is playing the game in fullscreen while watching videos. Can't say I had this on the NVidia. If I do manage to solve this completely, I'll report back.

Ok, I *think* I've solved it. I messed around with several settings, restarted the PC and it seems ok now.
First off, I forgot to say that I also replaced my secondary monitor along with my GFX card. I then noticed that both monitors were running at 59hz. I upped them to 60, enabled FreeSync on the new monitor and that seems to have done it.
