Launcher does not recognize Graphics Card
I recently got a new laptop and this one has an Nvidia GeForce GT 525M graphics card however for some reason, the Sonic Adventure 2 launcher refuses to detect that graphics card. It only detects the intel HD Graphics. I've tried running as administrator, updating the drivers, manually telling both sonic2app.exe and the launcher to run using the Nvidia graphics card and i've tried telling the entire system to only use the Nvidia graphics to force SA2B to use it as well. If there are people out there that are willing to help me i'd very much appreciate it as I am very tempted to play the game with the new laptop I got. Thanks.

Here's the fix:

1) Right click on your desktop and open Nvidia Control Panel.
2) Go to "Manage 3D settings".
3) Go to Program Settings.
4) Find the "add button".
5) Find Sonic Adventure 2 ( launcher ) listed.
6) On the Select the prefered graphic processor for this program:
have it use High Performance Nvidia Procesor.
7) Save. You are done.

I'm having the same problem, even if I set it to "High-performance NVIDIA processor" but it still doesn't work.

here's the modern-day fix for Windows 10:

1) Right-click on your desktop and click "Display Settings".
2) Scroll down and click on Graphics Settings
3) Click "browse" and select both "sonic2app.exe" and "launcher.exe".
4) Click on "Options" for both and set them to "High performance".

and yes, Ik that this is an old thread, but it was revived recently so it's technically not my fault that it's been revived.

When opening the launcher and following the suggested steps, I cannot select another GPU besides my Intel's built in GPU.

Anyone got some resolution for this? Same exact issue, tried the same fixes.

What I did was:

1. Open Nvidia control panel
2. Click on "manage 3D settings"
3. Click " program settings - add program - sonic2app.exe"
4. Change processor to "High performance Nvidia"
5. (Optional) Click "desktop" at the top menu of Nvidia control panel and click "display GPU activity icon in notification area" to check if it was running properly now and it works.

Nvidia Graphics option still doesn't show up on the game launcher but as soon as I launch the game it immediately switches from Intel to Nvidia. Hope this helps
