If you are both using controllers, the host must have 2 controllers plugged into their computer.
After that, the host must set both control devices in the launcher to "controller". You would not be able to set both devices to controller without having 2 controllers plugged into the host computer.
It is an annoying quirk I had to work around. This is because of the launcher asking you to select input types before starting the actual game. However, when both devices are set as controller, it should take the clients (2nd players) input just fine.
Nope. I'm using a controller and he's using a keyboard.
1) because all buttons for keyboard are color coded, make sure your friend knows what each prompts means
2) make sure the 2nd player control device is keyboard
3) make sure that you do not have controls restricted on remote play.
That is all I can say atm as I am not home to experiment with it.
Then, after they connect, in the bottom-left of the Remote Play window (where it has your profile, then the other person's profile underneath) there should be at least 3 controllers out of 4 highlighted.
Drag the other person's controller (most likely in the third slot) into the second slot, and presto! It should work! :>
