SA2 Keeps Crashing
Hi, I'm a noob when it comes to Steam, so, maybe I'm just doing it wrong, but, I use SA2 Modloader and everytime I try to load the game after pressing 'install loader', it crashes on the Omochao screen. I had no problems until recently. I tried uninstalling SA2 and SA2 Modloader, I've tried deleting those files called objx.52 or whatever, I've tried moving files around and uninstalling a few apps juuuust in case it might be a storage problem and nothing has worked. I'm hoping someone here can help me out.

Did you try Verifying the Game's Integrity?
That'll replace any missing files, and will help to an extent.

Ah, sorry. I don't know how to do that. Can you explain it to me?

Right-click the game in your Steam Library, then hit Properties.
Select the "Local Files" tab, and hit "Verify Integrity of Game Files".

Thanks. Still crashes though.

I did the verify integrity and now my save file is completely gone...I spent hours on that...

Okay.
Well, does the game try to open in fullscreen or a window?

Something's off there, then.
That shouldn't have affected the game save.

Windowed.

:/ I have no idea what to do...I'm gonna restart my computer. If it still doesn't work, then I guess I can't play SA2 anymore.

Windowed.

That may be the problem.
SA2 is a bit finicky about windowed mode.

Look at the UserConfig.cfg file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sonic Adventure 2\Config
(The file can be opened with Notepad)

Near the top of the file, it'll say <Configs FullScreen=
Make sure it says Fullscreen="1"
(and yes, the number must be in quotation marks)

As for your Save, just for laughs, look in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sonic Adventure 2\resource\gd_PC

and see if there's a folder called SAVEDATA.
It should have one or two files in it.

Nope. Searched the entire SA2 folder. No SAVEDATA...

It won't even let me make a new file anymore. The game is completely broken from verifying the files.

Someone had this problem recently.
To force it to make a save, go to that gd_PC folder and create a folder, and call it SAVEDATA.

I'm not sure why it removed that folder (it may even have been from when the mod loader was removed), but that can be fixed.

You made the change and it crashed?
(I assume it said FullScreen="0" before?)
