AFS Files?
I'm looking to edit the voice files for this game, but they're in a file that's in AFS format. I am wondering if anyone knows how to crack this file and get in? If you do, please tell me. Thanks.

If it helps, I tossed one of these at a metadata reader and it tells me these things are also called .lif files.

The voices for cutscenes, raks and menu voice are in .afs. If you're looking to edit the gameplay voices, they are in .csb files. Very easy to edit those.

I'd assume you just need to find a converter and then Audacity it. Try Googling to find a converter for the file extension.

I did manage to find one converter, but it didn't work. AFS is almost unheard of, apparently.

I'm not sure ho to get them fully extracted sadly. I tried a few programs, and I just get static as a result. :(

Exactly! I've gotten the same result as you, plus a few high-pitched beeping noises. It's been done before, so I know it's possible to extract the voices.

For .csb files, look into some Sonic Generations voice modding tutorials, this works the exact same way for SA2 .csb files. As for .afs, it's kinda hard to find tools to extract those. I found a few tools in making and extracting .afs files. Need a link?

I think Foobar2000, has a plugin for AFS files. Used it for the first game.
