XBOX Controller issues with SA2

ok so the launcher shows both keyboard and gamepad options, and i select gamepad, yet it still only lets me control the game with my keyboard. My XBOX 360 controler works with sonic adventure 1, but not with 2.

What can I do?

Okay, so you need to switch it to the controller option under "Player", when the launcher begins.

Make Sure the Xbox360 controller is plugged in click sonic adventure 2 DO NOT PRESS LAUNCH YET! go to player than you click where it says keyboard click it there should be a thing saying Xbox360 controller click it. THAN YOU CAN LANCH THE GAME!!!



THIS ALSO WORKS FOR PS4 CONTROLLERS!!!

I tried uninstalling SA2 and re installing and it worked once, then didnt work again

What kind of Xbox controller do you have? Is it Microsoft brand or was it manufactured by someone else? The compatibility can vary based on that. I have a Gamestop controller and it works fine.

Also stupid suggestion here but you could try unplugging any other external devices (keyboard included) and see if the controller works then.

Its a microsoft one. Weird thing is, my non microsoft one worked perfectly fine on both games till the cord broke
