And, hopefully you've got a good diet that can improve your stats over time, as well.
Focusing on END and END Potency would boost your HP pool.
Or the same, but for WIL and STR. All three of those stats work into your HP calculation.
More HP to survive unexpectedly unlucky situations could be crucial.
Farming is a reliable source of such stats.
The vegetable Imo can be pretty good for WIL gains, if you get lucky enough to improve its seeds with a WIL Potency effect.
Palulu, the coconut trees, can also be farmed, and they come with STR and END boosting effects, but you'd have to contend with negative DEX Potency effects, by default.
I'm unsure if Potency can ever go below the baseline of 80 (or whatever it is with your combination of race/class/feats).
But if you can get lucky on improving those seeds with STR or END potency, you've got a nice source of those stats.
Couple those crops with recipes like Assorted Fruit (2x any Fruit, Cutting Board recipe) or Stewed Vegetables (2x any vegetable, +1 optional vegetable, Cauldron recipe) and you can stack the effects into a really powerful stat-building meal.
Pardon the blathering, btw, haha.
Okay, so I'm clearly missing something about cooking, lol. I've bought 6 recipes now and never see any of them at the bonfire. I assume there's a stove or some such? Yet to see it
But for starters, Cutting Board can be crafted at Tinker's Table, you have the recipe by default.
Cauldron is also made on Tinker's Table, but the recipe is sold by Nino the cat man over at Tinker's Camp.
There are others, and not all can be crafted in the current version. Some might have to be exchanged with Furniture Tickets or stolen, but those two are pretty simple and provide helpful methods to cook up stuff that just aren't covered by the Bonfire.
Also don't feel like you HAVE to purchase cooking recipes.
You can often just randomly learn them after raising your Cooking skill level and cooking stuff.
Like, cooking a bunch of vegetable dishes could teach you a new vegetable recipe.
It might be fine to forgo spending Gold Bars to buy cooking recipes from merchants and just learn them yourself.
