how to setup shops/inns?

title. how do i get shops up and running to bring more active income in to my town? also for inns, do you need individual rooms for beds for them to function as bedrooms or can there be multiple beds in one room

From my testing, there can be multiple beds in the room and you give the bed the guest assignment. There is also a policy book you can get that increases the income based on the quality of the bed. Open the building to the public.

For setting up shops, you can setup a container, put a trash bag inside of it and use a sales tag on the container, then dump the items you want to sell in the container and your guests will buy the items inside the container. Normally when the container is empty, they buy the container but the trash bag prevents this behaviour.

Pre-requisites:
Open for Business - this lets the people come to your town. (You can but that at Loytel)
Building with Beds
Assign beds for guests

ty. i was wondering about the beds because i had beds assigned to guests all in an inn, but there would never be anyone sleeping in there (even though the beds would say they were for specific guests), and the guests would actually just be asleep randomly in my other buildings. and i would just get payments of like 25 orens for lodging everytime i came back. this system seems particularly obtuse, thanks for the info tho

Set the beds for your residents as resident(single). If you make a house for yourself, mark it as private so that the other peeps dont loiter in your room

Yeah, there really is almost no information so you just gotta scour the discussion board or ask.
