How to take away my pet's equipment without losing Karma?

As the title. My pet keep dual wielding things which is arguably not the best thing to do in when they don't have dual wielding skill.

Get their affinity up. Above 75 you can take their stuff without losing karma.

If you give them a shield they might use that instead, then you can take the unequipped weapon.
