Can I ignore the tutorial quests or will I miss out on important items?
If I just ignore loytel and dont invite him to my base, will I miss out on important recipies or items? Or will I be able to get what he sells somewhere else.
Do I need to complete his quests to get rid of the other two starting tutorial characters?

Yeah, Loytel and yet another story NPC that he gangs up with later down the road have a lot of workbenches the recipes of which are not sold anywhere else.

You miss out on a boat load of quests, recruitables and a free land deed. One of the recruitables at the end of Loytel's questline is a fairly useful ally unless if you're already using god pets.

if you don't take in Loytel and do his questline, you're locked out of quite a lot of important things, such as Vernis mine and its regular gem suplly that is also an easy to access renewable dungeon with all the kind of goodies you can find in, Kettle's ability to clone your best food items, and The Exile's ability to duplicate your favorite spell books.

You also miss out on a very easy source of return scrolls in bulk, which cut travel time down immensely. Loytel and the other npcs that join if you have him also have jobs/hobbies as any other npc you could get to join your towns, so thats free townsfolk without paying gold bars or getting them to like you.

If anyone is curious if you say no to hiring Loytel, the quest just gets added back in permanently to the quest board until you decide to take it. This pauses the storyline related to him and some other things. So you won't miss out, but unless you are running a theme where you don't want a human or something in your base I would just take him for the free administration points he brings.

There are two key NPCs behind the story, one dupes any item you craft, the other dupes spellbooks. They'll add some more story starts later so you can be more of a lone wolf
