Report a translation problem
I don't particularly care very much if you believe me or not. It's not my problem. You can say "nuh uh" all you want. What I'm saying isn't to convince you but it's for the passerby's who happen to read through this thread. It's not my goal to change your mind, your mind is already set in stone and closed off. Convincing you would be a nice bonus but that's not what I'm after.
Unlike DF, which as I understand is fully procgen, Elin has many handcrafted static locations and a few story dungeons and bosses. It doesn't have as much variety as DF, but then again, really not much does.
Elin, much like Elona, has some zany or goofy elements to it. I wouldn't really call it a weeb game necessarily, as it stands on its own merits and even a guy like me who's very much not into that sort of thing has a great time playing it. That said, yeah, it's particularly beloved by that crowd (and for good reason IMO).
I consider Elin to be a relatively traditional, if not purely orthodox rogue like. It's directly descended from ADOM in its mechanics, and thus would choose that as its closest point of comparison among other games.
