Queen Bee farming
Do the bees spawned by the bee hive respawn? If so, can you use it to farm queen bees?

They do respawn, that's for sure.
And they are capable of dropping queen bees.

I dunno how often they spawn, but I've gotten quite a few queen bees just by casting a Ball-type spell every so often when I pass by a swarm when going about my base.
Can you properly recruit bees? If so, you might be able to get them with the Butcher's Knife

I'm sure you can recruit them just fine, but wouldn't butchering them just give bee corpse?
I haven't butchered many different types of things, but it's just gotten me corpses and wool/hide/cashmere if applicable.

wiki says they do not contribute to honey farm, they just spawn naturally near hive, so theorically, you can farm them and hope for new bee queens.

You can clone your beehives with Kettle (alchemist), for 2-5 per month.

If you can steal 15s items, there are 5 hives in Lumiest that respawn monthly.

It might be treating it similarly to shearing products, so who knows?

Very interesting. Might have to try and see if I can devote a settlement to breeding them and then killing w/o the butcher's knife.
