Anyone else's pet just attack them when you restrain yourself on the gallows?

Just downloaded the demo to try it out, seems fun and in my boat (CDDA, DF, etc). Just wanted to understand if this is a bug or if if anything restrained on the gallows will get murdered by my pet in the future? :)

I think the tutorial punk and boar are special, because I've restrained myself and my pets on the gallows many times, and they get brought down to 0 HP but never actually die. Great for training their armor and evasion skills.

^ This, it is the intended function of the gallows, anything restrained on it cannot die, so train yourself and your pets with it. All the nearby NPC's will join in the beating too, it's a fun time for all.

Yeah, the Gallows are basically the "defense skill" equivalent to the Training Dummy.
When you restrain yourself, or a citizen/party member, on the gallows, that person can be attacked and their HP will not fall below 0.
Instead, it will use up your Stamina, and everyone will immediately stop attacking as soon as you hit 0 Stamina.
It's useful for training skills such as Light/Heavy Armor and Evasion/Greater Evasion.
And, I suppose, weapon skills for allies who are attacking you.

And you can restrain an ally by picking up the gallows and trying to place it on them.
They'll be subject to the same limitations (lose HP first, and Stamina afterwards), but since you can't see an ally's stamina, you'll just know they're done when it won't let you attack them anymore, and their status will say "Tired".

Probably have to be careful if your allies can apply such statuses, since you're in quite a vulnerable state after a gallows session, if you take it all the way to 0 HP/0 Stamina.

Also you need to be careful of anyone that knows Fire, Ice, Acid, or Ether spells, as they will use them on you, and it will cause the secondary effects.

Thank goodness for Magic Manners Lv.2 and/or Hearth Stone level 3 protecting from her shattering yours and other citizens items.
But woe be upon you if you don't have either of those, because she will NOT hesitate.

not just dots be careful of people with nastier stuff
Eluminaire who wields only ether spells can easily rapidly accelerate your Ether Disease

Gaki and any other casters with Curse can also quickly Curse all your equipment

Either use the gallows/horse on locations/bases where they aren't present or plan around them
