Rotten Fruit to Wine

I'm a little confused about rotten fruits and vegetables that have rotted in your inventory, can you turn them into wine or are only the fruits that have rotted in the fermentation barrels turn into wine?

I'd like to know too. Why not toss your rotten fruits a fermentation barrel to find out? :D

Tried that with mushrooms, rotten mushrooms stay rotten while stale, etc. mushrooms turn into beer.

Kind of makes sense really, you can't just have any old fungus infesting your brew unless you want it to come out tasting like toxic waste at best (and actually being lethally toxic to even smell at worst). Gotta be yeast and yeast alone.

And I've tried it with fish (accidentally, of course). They also won't turn into wines if they've been rotted OUTSIDE the containers. But at least in the case of fish, you can still turn them into flakes at the sawmill, and can then dump the flakes into the Brewing Barrels.

well you might not be able to Turn them into Wine/Alcohol DIRECTLY, but you can Still turn them into Fertilizer, that you can Hammer into a Corps, that you can Craft into Bait that you can Fish whit, then turn the Fish into Burrito Flakes and then turn them into Alcohol that way.

They need to cross into "rotten" status while inside the container. They can be "stale" before you insert them.
