HELP - I am Screwed
So I reload the game whenever i die and try to learn from my mistakes. I know you can have the option to re spawn and suffer some drawbacks.. but Im a weirdo. I am somewhat immersed in this wonderful world and do not want to view the game as a place that conjures me back to continue the quest.

Sometimes this cost me a few hours of inconvenience and such... I am terrible at remembering to save frequently.

I loaded a save game in the city of Lumiest. Upon loading I am in the water and drown before i can leave the map. I cannot get onto anything and cannot place my raft due to limitations of the city.

Also.. i drown before evacuation contdown finishes. I am going to try spamming bandages and hope the RNG saves me. If anyone has an answer i appreciate it, I will lost 2 days from last back up.

Guess I could just respawn.. ugh.
Thanks in advance.

I wrote a bunch of things to try but then I remembered that you should be able to just drop whatever item you're using as your raft at your feet without using RMB by using middle mouse button or by using LMB to pick it up and then LMB outside of your bags.
Would be a shame to waste it though:

Do you have any Scrolls, Rods, or spells of Teleportation/Short Teleportation?
Do you have any Scrolls, Rods, Potions, or spells that heal directly?
Are you worshiping a god, and if so, are you using Pray to extend the time you have to try to exit the water?
Do you have any Potions of Speed, and/or worshiping Lulwy and have enough stamina to use her ability without getting hurt?
Do you have enough Tactics to use Rush, and can you use it on anything to help you move (though of course you have to deal with the consequences of this)?
Unlikely, but do you happen to have anything in your inventory with water breathing?
Its risky but the only option for your circumstance is using the self-harm skill so you teleport in hopefully close enough to land. Could also use a scroll or rod of teleport, I make sure to have those on me along with a bunch of other things at all times, still have like a hundred stock of teleport since I seldom use but it has saved me a number of times.

Edit: Like the guy said above me (ninja'd me) a item with "let's you breath underwater" is nice to have but I've lost it myself due to giving it to a companion after dismissing them from the party but they then "sell" all the useless stuff which included that item.

Placing items to create a surface you can stand on to be above the water is a good way to not drown.
I think some things also float when placed, like Eggs, but I dunno what you have on you.
You should have something, though.
Even a single piece of grass held and placed should be enough, if you stand on it and wait to catch your breath.

BRB! Going to check if crap floats! Will also need to test if cursed or blessed crap floats/sinks too...

Just be sure to "place" it, not just drop it!
I tried placing some items but it instantly goes back to my hand.
I was able to use a scroll of teleport and a couple bandages to get close to the docks.

I greatly appreciate the advice. I will remember these next time im in deep..

I did not know that i could drop a chest on the ocean.. and stand on it ... THAT is pretty epic.
Ever since i found the raft i feel like i am super awesome because i can explore water zones.. but that is outside the cities.

I will remember to never log out if i am standing near an interior wall that borders water. I had this awesome armor that let me float and carried around, but i failed to notice when i ran out of blanket and it got destroyed.

i forgot the way that the walls interact with squares can get wonky in some cases. Thank you all again for your answers.

(The other issue i had went away when i restarted without mods.)

Anyone else encountered this issue with picking up quest rewards?

It's a combat ability.
If you hover over the Tactics skill in your skill level list it should say you could learn it by reaching level 5 Tactics.

Oh, well that wouldn't have helped you not drown in this situation.
Any levitation effects don't actually make you float above full water tiles.
Those only work on puddles, like those made from potions thrown at the ground or watering cans, and traps and mines like you'll find in dungeons.

You'll still very much start drowning if you try to "levitate" to get through deep water.
