How to obtain a large number of tree seeds?
I have reached level 74 in agriculture and want to start making good beds, so I began planting trees.

Why is it so hard to get tree seeds? Is this a bug? It feels like I only get one seed every ten or so trees...

I planted 20 trees at home, waited several days, then chopped them down with an axe, and only got 1 +11 tree seed and 1 +1 tree seed...

So it’s basically a 20-to-2 exchange (and when planting these two seeds, there’s a high chance I won’t even get a single seed back, right?).

How do I get tree seeds to +70 or higher?

Also, how does fertilizer work?

Can it be used every day? Or can it only be used once per full growth cycle?

Can trees also take fertilizer?

plant tree in tilled soil to get 100% chance to have at least one seed back

it's actually easier for fruit trees, as you can harvest the fruit with sickle. and get more seeds that way. Palullu for exemple, can be harvested for seeds when the banana/coconut appears on the tree. If you wait for the tree to be withered, you'll also get extra seeds

As for the fertilizer, sorry, IDK

So it has to be planted in the soil to count....

Just found out now.

Let Delegated Farming do it's thing or harvest manually - if planted on tilled soil.
They'll reach higher levels eventually, just takes time.

Fertilizer can only be used once on a growing plant/tree/... . You'll see cropname(fertilized) when you hover over it, means it cannot take more fertilizer.
Your "everyday" fertilizer is your watering can, reducing time needed to grow by 1 day, each time used - according to wiki.
And fertilizer just gives 10% of total plant growth - according to wiki
No idea if that changed meanwhile, just repeating what I've read couple weeks ago :steamhappy:.

according to wiki (most) trees take 30 days to fully mature. I always wait till they're big and strong before i execute them and always get seeds and sometimes more than one per executed tree

also, fertilized plant has more chance to increase the seed level when harvested and the increase will usually be bigger (limited by your farming level - or is it lumberjack in the case of trees ? IDK)
Question Feb 24 @ 6:34am
Tip : Cherry blossom wood is the best wood you can farm normally and you can get the seeds around Olvina easily (look for the tiles with cherry blossoms). Wait till they are mature before chopping them down.

You need a lot of wood to grind carpentry...but the funny thing is, the best beds dont use wood at all. If you want to make a king's bed, you will want to farm ether fragments -> ingots (hammer moongates from Nino, then turn them into ingots at the smelter) and you will need to grind weaving to get high quality textures because it is the only ingredient that can get +item quality. It is a huge grind, and really not worth it unless you are min-maxing bases in the endgame.

A futon is much easier to grind for and make, and is nearly as good as a king's bed. But if you just want to regenerate more stamina, and the tinker's camp hammock isnt cutting it even with all sleep feats, grab the casino's ehekatl pillow which you can farm for using the basket ball game. You should be able to regenerate to full stamina easily.

Lil off topic here

The pillow + a sleeping bag made from plastic with Lv4 Pleasent/Bed is sufficient for 146 stamina with mastersleeper and counting.

You also get far more seeds if you wait until the tree is Withered before cutting it.

As a side note, given that sickled seeds can count as "made by you" they are capable of being duplicated by you know who.

Does delegated farming still benefit from fertilizer and daily watering, or does it follow its own schedule since it has a skill that levels up and presumably impacts speed/efficiency?

Plant growth rate isn't based on Delegated Farming level. They grow as normal, so watering and fertilizing will speed it up.
I don't know exactly what increasing the Delegated Farming level does, but I'd imagine it affects the time between maturing and harvesting, the leveling of seeds, and/or the yield.
Kettle can dupe seeds.
This video helped me understand the farming mechanics and how to boost fertility, I know dead trees drop more seeds too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-HvG2Pk4T8
