Few questions about animals and cooking.
I started small ranch, currently have 8 snow putit 2 rabbits, the one dragon from story, pig and goat. Last two I'll probably get ride off, since I got them only because they were cheap and I wanted to test how animal handling works.

Anyway, my main goal with my ranch is supply enough materials (mainly cashmere) so i can mass craft foreign doors, as they seem like most cost effective recipe for money making I have acces to.

Secondary goal is to produce good eggs.

So, I have few questions on how to optimize it all:

1) Does level of pasture have any impact on produced eggs/milk/skins etc? As in is +60 pasture better than +1? How about flowers and honey?

2) Is fur production the same for every animal? For exaple would something like Vorpal rabbit produce more cashmere than regular rabbit, or is it the same?

3) How do i raise level of my livestock? Does it grow on it's own over time?

4) I think next logical step in upgrading my production is to aquire more dragon type-monsters. I never saw any in animal tamer inventory so I assume I need those monster-catchning balls I saw in some store somewhere to get them. Any particular place/type of monster I should look for?

5) I glanced over all egg attributes and I think Rock have best eggs. I assume, just like dragons, animal tamers dont sell them (and if they do they are very rare), so I need to catch one myself?

6) From what I saw so far, best food for STR/END is meat. Is farming animals viable way to get it, or is it waste of time?

I am not entirely sure but from my observation and info from wiki:
1) unsure about pasture but higher flower's level make higher level honey
2) there are different type of fur but rabbit and snow putit produce cashmere, I have shiva and they gives wool, and dragon from story gives dragon scales
3) being livestock still levels up some skills but as a I observed they are very slow, people say better catch higher rank monster rather than level them, or breed fertilized egg with high level milk
4) there's no true dragon beside the story one currently but ancient crab/ wyvern gives good meat
5) Rock cannot produce egg as a livestock, you need to roll the job to one that produce egg as a resident
6) cruel truth but everyone just kill the story dragon for the best STR/END meat... In nightly build there's a tool to slaughter livestock and unless they are unique character they will perish forever, you do that to the poor dragon your karma will drop but you will guarantee to have the meat and it will come back 2 months later

I read you 2) wrong
the amount depends on how long they haven't shaved, not the type of monster

Thanks. One more question - wiki says there is butchering knife I can craft at tinker table but I dont see recipe anywhere. how can I get it?

Just to clarify - I'm not talking about 'a butcher tool' item. it is supposed to be a knife (I assume) that will let me butcher my livestock
that's what I am talking about in 6)
it's suppose to unlock from the beginning, if there's not, you need to be in Nightly build which you can enable through steam
it is an unstable build where the dev add and re-balance stuff daily so be aware

I think the fiber level is based on their stats. If so, you can raise their stats with food.

If you want to farm STR/END food, have you looked at Palulus? They're basically the fruit version of meat.

They also cripple your dexterity growth. No thanks, I'd rather eat cactus.

Oh, speaking of that...
Create Assorted Fruit with Cactus + Palulu!
The cactus's DEX Potency effects cancels out the -DEX Potency effect of the Palulu.

I mean, there are other ways to work around that slight penalty, but that's maybe the easiest way.
I liked using Palulu to make Giant Shortcakes or Soft and Fluffy Bread, since you can use things like flour to counteract the -DEX Potency.

Though, all that's assuming you're farming Palulu for STR or END Potency bonuses.
If you instead farmed them for DEX Potency, that also counters their innate -DEX Potency.
