And the room must be fully closeup + attach a door.
Normal situation that house or room board does not works is it does not fulfill the condition as room, you probably does not fully wallup to make it a room.
I think Room Board has an option to "change group", which is used to differentiate different housing groups.
Maybe the new house board you're trying to use is acting like "you already have another housing board for this house".
But, I'm not sure on that, since I've never tried placing more than one housing board per house to see if that's even a thing that can be an issue.
You can hide the board if you think its ugly or use the wall mounted counterparts.
The house boards affects all connected buildings and rooms in the same group number.
I was willing to admit I stuck the house board on the outside of my first house.
I did place it on the outside as well - but I also tried multiple times on the inside and it would not work there. Why would I ask the question? As stated I tried multiple locations inside the room and it would not work - then it just worked. No rhyme or reason.
