There is a maximum offering value with diminishing returns when it comes to sacrificing to gods, but I also never sacrificed a whale to Ehekatl.
According to the wiki, the Piety gain for most things is 100 x weight (s).
Yet the maximum value of a single item in an offering batch is 1,000.
This would be a weight of 10.0s.
Considering a Whale weighs 1200.0s, that's not really a worthwhile offering.
Sharks would also be overkill.
Heck, even a Moonfish (14.0s) would have nearly 1/3 of its value wasted.
Sunfish (9.5s) should be fine, though it'd still be best to offer those one at a time, due to the other Piety gain limits.
Sunfish are kind of at that sweet spot of heavy weight, yet not being overly valuable to make a nice offering.
