PV vs DV
it's difficult to evaluate the relative strength of these stats. is a piece with 25 pv or 25 dv better?

It should also be noted you can't dodge magic attacks, so even if you had max DV, a spell will still hit you. That's not to say DV is worthless by any means. I usually try to aim for a mix of them but favor PV.

If you focus on shield, PV is better, since DV will snuff it most of the time and do not take Greater Evasion for sometimes.

PV is more reliable and when it comes to not dying you usually want reliability. However, if you're not the tank of your party, you're not getting hit especially often, and you're not so soft as to get one shot, DV is still pretty useful to heavily lower the amount of scary hits you take.

At the end of the day, the big 2 things that matter are 1. do you even have a choice to begin with and 2. armor weight plays a big factor. For 1. an upgrade is an upgrade, 4 PV vs 10 DV + 2 PV is an easy choice, and a common situation. For 2. spellcasters care about their armor weight, as does anyone who's building into light or heavy armor, or a fairy. PV and DV armors tend to have very different trends in weight, and that usually makes the decision.

You definitely can dodge Spells. I've seen logs "Arrow" Spell missed a lots.
