I never played the 1st and didnt see it in the steam store.....should i have played it as well.....cause i cant find it anywhere.

It's not on Steam, just look up Elona and you should find it easily from there. Don't play the mobile version, it's a ruined P2W version of it.

I wouldn't say it's necessary, but the original is free and a pretty damn good game in its own right.

Do you need to play the previous game, Elona, for Elin? No.
Should you play it because it's great? Hell yes.

You won't find it on Steam, it's free and only available on a github.

The content Elona has makes Elin look like an ant in comparison.

just saying you linked a modded overhaul, in which case yeah of course it's gonna have more content, that however ISN'T the original game, and should be linked here https://ylvania.org/elona_top.html

While there isn't anything wrong with whatever fork of Elona you may enjoy, it's good to let people know its modded so they know what to expect in what the dev may want to add in Elin

Elona is a gem, but is significantly harder and less accessible than Elin.
If you are one of those people who already thinks Elin is hard and obtuse it is best to avoid it. You will die a lot and you will be punished a lot harder if you try it. Elin is very merciful tbh
