Or as the game likes to call it, "Weaving."

Is it really that bad or are you leveling it without blowing 30 or so extra plat for potential?

It's slow to produce not to level. Making your own string is one of if not the slowest productions I've seen.

Go into dungeons, cut down cob webs, take that back to spin into thread. There's TONS of it.

That's where I get all my Vines/Silk/Spider Silk along with grass to make floors early on since it doesn't cost stamina to make and the base materials are so damn light to stack up a large amount of.

All processing machines get faster as the related skill increases.
It feels like it increases in speed every 10 levels, but it might be 5.
Either way, just increase your Weaving skill and the Spinner will produce faster.
I think around level 60, or 70, or so Weaving it becomes nearly instant.

Same for sawmill and carpentry, smelting and blacksmith, etc etc.

Gather all your garbage. Hammer it. Take paper scraps, turn into thread. Take thread, turn into textiles
