Brother how low level are you lol or are you doing a lonely soul run and just don't have gear yet?
Actually I do have one party mate (cat girl sister) in symbiosis, and we're both pummeling monsters with putits in amber LOL. :v
best bet is to silence him and he become kinda useless.
What I mean, is, it's okay to have 'weaknesses' to keep exploring higher level dungeon. The real question is : Can you reliably kill most of the stuff and can you reliably survive them ? Do you have alternatives for when it doesn't work ? If so, you're somewhat ready.
The cat girl sister is kinda wasted being hosted as she can't use her speed properly. So unless you're super fast you're likely nerfing her speed by having her ride you which defeats the purpose of that companion specifically as she's super frail but compensates by having insanely high base speed.
They use sound based magic and it's a full screen AoE. It's sound ball.
It will dim your team and if you get dimmed twice, you get muddled and that makes you basically KO'd and you will pass turns. Pretty much an instant death.
Sound resistance can protect you from them. But that's pretty hard to get to 20.
Easiest way to beat them is to be chad as all hell and pretty much just beat them down with pure stats.
Even spamming stuff like ice arrow to try to free or other strategies that normally work are pretty ineffective. My go to strat is to walk up to them and hit them with my sword in any area that I can interpret as a groin. Cat eyes and hero help a lot with this.
I'm level 50. Most of my team is around 40. And I usually lose 2 or all of my 3 allies when facing them. If I even survive at all. If I get muddled it's over.
Luckily past level 50 dungeon you don't have to face them anymore. In level 60+ dungeons they go back to putit tier bosses from level 1 dungeons. And Spiral Kings and the other Lovecraftian horrors are only standard enemies with their very tiny health pools.
Intonation of sound for +15 resistance then.
that's not a spell a player can learn it essentially doesn't exist.
https://ylvapedia.wiki/wiki/Elin:Spellcasting
Perhaps an adventurer might have it (some adventurers and monsters have versions of spells the player cannot acquire)
for example Mysterious Servant Eluminaire has Miasma of Ether which is something that normally doesn't exist for the player (ether bit, ether bolt and ether ball are your only options)
but the player cannot get intonation of sound
Ah honestly just assumed it was a rare spell to find.
Level 1 intonations gives +10 resist to element and convert physical damage to the element. Which is already a solid defense boost
According to the wiki, only Fire, Ice (Cold), Lightning, Light (Holy), and Chaos have corresponding Intonation spells available to the player.
But, not Sound, which is too bad because the defensive aspect of that element having an Intonation spell would have been useful in mitigating the Spiral King's Sound Ball spell attack.
I'm fast too. :v
oh, yeah, you're right, never mind X)
IMO it's really a shame that some element don't have some version of the spell.
