So technically its multiplayer ?
You can use the Moongate to visit bases/towns/maps crafted by other players, but it'll just be their town with whatever NPCs they had living there.
And, you can sometimes run into things like monsters, remains, or tree carvings that bear the names of other players.
And of course, the aforementioned newspaper thing to see what other players have been doing in their game.
The developer has not listed the game as multiplayer, it's categorized as single player only, and I don't believe any actual multiplayer is planned, just async interaction with other people's game data. The "multiplayer" tag was added by players, I wouldn't really agree with its use here.
