Where do I get Chunks of Soil (ice)?

Search engines have been useless, apparently nobody has asked or nobody knows.

I need them to make cold blankets because I keep losing all my ♥♥♥♥ to ice magic at the stage of the game I'm at with my current character, but I can't make any because I can't find Ice soil chunks anywhere.

I went east to a random snow zone, and then looked around for any above ground blocks that you can mine with your pickaxe.

They look like the default soil/dirt cubes that you can dig up, but made of ice/snow.

If you go to a snow covered map tile you can use your shovel to dig on the world map and infinitely dig up soil on a standard tile or snow on a snowy tile. You can keep this up until you either run out of stamina or carry weight.
