I HATE item destruction
Fireproof bags dont matter, items in them still burn. Im max resist to fire, and my stuff still burns. I open a door and get hit by an ice spike and there goes half my tools. This is a real stupid mechanic.

Yeah, it's annoying, but it was an integral part of elona, so it's NOT going to go away.

It's been NERFED, because it used to be sound dogs DESTROYED ALL YOUR POTIONS.
The mod makes all the problems go away....a game is ment to be fun some people may find some game mechanics to be annoying and it our right to just not want to deal with this hassle.Everyone has different views on how a game should be played some will love hardcore stuff while some just wanna enjoy without bieng setback by everything.

Yeah, but that mod is going to hurt you in the long run, as you miss out on crafting xp, which is what levels up your stamina.

Carbon logs are needed for fireproof blankets. Where do you get those? Why burning logs in a furnace! Boy did i feel stupid when i discovered that!

But wait, it gets better! taming is leveld up by shearing animals. So i make the snow puttits live stock, have about 1k in animal feed, and i shear them and all the wild animals on my base. This levels up taming, which levels up endurance, which levels up both health and stamina.

So by shearing the animals, spinning their wool into yarn, and turning that yarn into textures you can prevent your stuff from being burned AND level up your stats.

Ice is actually harder, as the places you mine it are filled with some tough enemies. one easy way past this is to buy a few blankets, and to invest in the shops that sell them so they have more inventory.

Now acid is nasty at lower levels, but at higher levels those acid slimes are rarer, i have learned to use acid proof liquids the moment i discover they are not cursed, and once everything i own is acid proof, i apply it to my pet's stuff. you can find these in vending machines along with naught mags and panties...

I fully understand that this game is NOT easy, and it will pee on the floor, knock you down, and rub your nose in it out of spite. However once you figure out the crazy mechanics you will find one of the best rpgs of all time.

Like martial arts, did you know that if you leveled that up in elona you did 250 base damage per punch? I need to verify that's the same here...

When a container is destroyed, everything inside is also destroyed, so by making your containers fireproof, you also eliminate the chance of everything inside going up in flames together with it.
The singular items inside are indeed counted separately for this though.
Ah, thanks for clarifying

You replace itsems so quickly in this game that if you lose something it's usually only a setback for that encounter. You'll find a replacement in the same dungeon and something better the next time you're in a dungeon as your fame goes up and scales everything up.

Just don't run around with training gear outside of the puppy cave and you'll be fine.

You also don't have to sell all your gear. After every adventure I'm running back to base with four bags full of gear. I have four wagons filled with gear sets like I'm playing Rust or something.

I honestly get more upset when my loot gets destroyed but that's a matter of risk reward, looking at the current ROI in your inventory and deciding if you want to push on or use that recall scroll and sell off.

Personally, I'd be happy if they nerfed the base chance of it happening, or, give us more materials that add fire and ice resistance.

There's a hearthstone skill where it prevents item destruction, iirc, gotta be at least level 2 (or 3) hearthstone, though, but that's not too bad.

They give you a dragon that you can shear for scales that are fireproof to make things with. You can also buy acidproof potion from merchants.

Only gripe I have with it is that maybe the blankets should be stackable (there's a mod for this) or have some sort of durability instead of whatever they have going on currently.

The dragon scales only help people not wearing metal armor due to their class though ;)

But like i said you choose how you want to play it. Im not missing on anything using the mod and nobody forcing you to grind all stats it a roleplay game for some people not a number grinding game where you have to min max all aspect of your character. Plus i have like 70h and im still discovering tons of things. It just that personaly i dont like the extra hassle and that just my personal choice. I meen a bunch of people use the mod to not pay taxes for the same reason.

I know this post is quite old but weaving is not a terribly good crafting skill since it does little for the average players outside of allowing them to craft lightweight fireproof containers. And no, you typically level up your skills by spam crafting stuffs like nails (for craftinng) or bolts (for blacksmithing) so you aren't missing out a lot from crafting a few measly blankets.

If you have a precious item, like a little girl ball and mark it as important and place one in each bag the game won't destroy your bag as it can't destroy the item.

Where how when name?
Magic Manners (2) doesn't sound like it would prevent enemies damaging the players inventory.

it only prevents the party and PCC from destroying items it also prevents the player from destroying enemy items but enemies can still destroy your stuff

I feel it could probably use a tweak at feat 3 to do exactly that and be toggle able if you want to destroy a specific enemy weapon for instance
