Wild mine dog is following me everywhere?

I saw a weird looking dog in a random field now it's following me around the whole map?

It's not acting like a regular pet though, I can't choose to send it home or anything, I can only talk to it because I have the animal speaking skill. But it follows me on the overworld map too.

I'm worried the little guy is going to die or something if I can't bring it somewhere :/ Can I tame it somehow?

it might be a machine. if you worship the machine god you might have hacked it. so its your ally now

I worship the god of trickery so I'm not sure ^^;

Can I put him somewhere safe? Will it be gone forever if it dies in combat?

ye normally such a ally is gone forever if it dies.

I don't think so? I usually just auto attack with my axes lol

One of my options when I click him, instead of talking to it, is to banish it, which I guess is a little less sad than waiting for it to inevitably die in combat :(

Hack by machine god worshiper skill, that also happen when your ally/pet is machine god worshiper.

Do you have followers? If one of them follows mani then that could be the reason.
