howto make black cat lick chest

The Black Cat will lick the chest if it's close enough to it when it drops, and you'll get a message when it happens. It can lick while riding/hosting, but the range is about 3-4 squares, so you have to make sure you're close enough when the target dies.

Otherwise, if you were too far away, it won't lick the chest/drops

As far as I know it always happens for boss chests when the cat is in your party. The item has to actually drop from an enemy (which the chest counts for). The Black Cat does not randomly lick items already on the map.
