Vision range
Was just curious if there was a way to expand your vision range past the default 5 tiles that you have. My companions seem to be capable of seeing things from upwards of like 8 tiles away and it's admittedly making it hard to train various things myself unless I want to just sit and spam a dummy.

In the dark, you can increase how far you see by upgrading your light source. The torch we craft at the start is pretty lackluster.

When in the light, I don't think there is a permanent way to improve vision range. Temporary buffs like cat's eye or infravision will increase your vision range. You could probably use a telescope to see farther too, but you wouldn't be able to target the things you see with it until they enter your actual vision range.

Damn, so past the lantern there isn't really anything, that's a bit saddening.

Hard to train because your allies keep getting all the kills?

Yup, wanted to clear dungeons to get my fame back up (still recovering from selling it awhile back) and train my magic a bit because I have a good stockpile and I didn't wanna just use it all on a dummy. My companions however keep killing things before I can get to them a lot of the time.

So tell them to stay home?

Then they don't train off the food I have given them nearly as quickly. At least from my experience. I was looking for a more balanced approach lol.

It's not like you spend a very long time in Nefia (in terms of game time). If you want them to eat food then take them with you while you run in circles on the world map (I'm unsure whether they eat while you're using Fast Travel, but if they do then use that)

I mean if I'm going to do this then I'd rather just clear the nefia asap and then sit at a training dummy lol. That would be the much more efficient way of doing it.

Otherwise if you want your allies to stick around, you could craft the Whistle of Peace and blow it on every floor of the Nefia to keep your allies from attacking.
Leavin all the fighting to you, keep their company, and still be able to feed them while you're clearing Nefias for fame.

You should be able to keep the cat's eye buff up basically permanently while in dungeons or whatnot. It starts at a few hundred turns IIRC and the duration increases substantially per level.

You could also make a peace whistle and set your followers to passive so you can do all the killing.

Yea Cat's Eye seems to be my best option for a balance between letting me hit things myself while also making my Nefia clears not painfully slow.

haven't really tested it myself yet, but yesterday i fond a Spell Book that i learned Telepathy from, and the Description of the spell say it allow you to Seance the Presence of other NPC's outside of your sight range, maybe that can help?

Yeah this was really annoying in the "we're at war" and monster den quests I did. One or two of my companions would always wander off to fight a solitary enemy only to get killed as a new wave spawned right next to them. Also I used telepathy once and it let me see enemies through walls but I wasn't able to get close enough to attack them before it wore out. However I kinda got the impression it just lets you see them but you'd still have to be within your normal view distance to attack them.

Telepathy lets you see where things are but not actually interact with them from an extended distance. I'm looking primarily for the latter which seems to not really exist outside of the Cat's Eyes buff.

From my experience that's basically what it does. If you wanted to you could theoretically train telepathy with the help of Demitas to make it last longer.
