This Game is a goldmine.
The concept and ideas are what you'd imagine an actual "Isekai" Anime turned game would look and breathe like. Reminds me of Rune Factory and Terraria/Stardew.
You can make it cosy if you want to, or you can go H.A.M.

Just want to praise the devs for this gem. It deserves more players, support and love.
I'm hooked!!!!

Yeah that's been the vibe I've been getting since I started playing. I also particularly like how most mechanics/features, while not necessarily "required", become increasingly more rewarding as the player invests more time/currency in them. Makes for a very satisfying sandbox experience.

I vote this over crybaby wukong for GOTY, but it's EA

LOL
It certainly feels that way.
This game has the biggest potential to the calibre of Terraria + Stardew's success when it begins to gain more and more traction.
Creator of Another World is another game in this vibe i'd recommend you - it's both on steam and dlsite and some mechanics are further along in development. That dev likely was inspired by Elona too... also, the game gives you more opportunities to be a ♥♥♥♥ to NPCs like forcing them to sign a life insurance policy then reverse-pickpocketing a remote controlled bomb and killing them with it for fun and profit lol

I mean its better then Tarraria, its more like rimworld meets Stardew, but I find Terraria an insult to compare great games for, its great standard for meh though imo, but I guess if you just got off minecraft Tarrariria is peak of gaming, but if you gamed for 20+ years I find fanboys who rave about Fallout NV more tollarable. I mean its just the most famous, but starbound was better sigh, but I also love Kenshi wich this very much reminds me of. Like I wouldn't even remotly compare it to Terraria, I am not diging dirt, its not 2d, and its better in every single wway.

Its like someone who thinks cut up cold hotdogs in ketchup is on par with xmas season tamales... Like the OP I liked then comparing this to Tarraria its like oh great some one who hasn't played that many games again...

I recommend you try Kenshi, and Rimworld its similar to this and will make you question why you ever compared it to Tarrarar and was excited about that.

2d is always a homage to platformer games, it skew your view by experiencing escapism in a restrictive angle. You'll would not be able to wrap your head around it unless your force it, games success around it revolve around a starting point with an exit point usually at the other end of the right screen, a session base play.

Elin had years of Elona to build upon as a foundation. And honestly, so far I'm already loving it more than Elona and the excellent fan expansion project ElonaPlus. I would say other than the incompletely main quest, Elin already feel like a finished game, (again) probably because most of its mechanic was build upon, or tweaked using Elona as a base.

I mostly just want more Elin going onward. More areas to explore and see, since from comment of NPCs and race lore entry, North Tyris always felt like the most boring place of this world compared to Yerles with its mechanic soldiers, and Eulderna with their air ships. Hell, even the Vindale forest Elona's main story revolved around. I want to see and explore these places. And of course, more entry in monster entry to let me collect like pokemon. Especially with Elin having townbuilding which give us much greater pet limit than Elona.

If the dev keep releasing quality area expansion like Wartale, I would continue buying them.

Thanks for the Creator of Another World suggestion. Looks great, going to dive into this one!

There are a couple other things that stick out to me as being incomplete - there's griffon leather in the game and the only source of it is harpies. There's references to alchemy (even items that give bonuses to it) but it's not in the game. Equipment crafting is extremely limited - most types can't be crafted, including even robes. Windmills in the game files, but not available. Also feels like there should be a bigger spider than the spotted spider to get silk from.

There's a lot in the game, but I wouldn't say it feels complete.

You are right. I totally forgot the whole alchemy system hasn't been properly programed into the game yet, and the whole weapon/armor crafting only have very basic function. Since I mostly play as a dungeon diver to collect things in Elona, I constantly forget these things exist so I imagine it feels very different to people who plays Elin more as a survival/craft game.

On the whole griffin part. Griffin material existed in Elona, but if I remember correctly, the actual griffin creature was only in the game in the fan expansion ElonaPlus (since there's a baby griffin to adult griffin evolution chain, which only existed in Plus). So there's a possibility griffin was never intended as an actual creature in Elin. But I do remember there are some influence Elin took from ElonaPlus (can't remember what they are on top of my head though), so maybe there'll be new creatures introduced later.
